About Jensen Guitars
I Started building instruments back around 1992 when I was working for
H.B.Woodsongs in Boulder, Colorado. I had acquired an early 70s Guild
D-35 that had seen better days. After completely restoring the instrument I
brought it into work to show off my handy work when I ran into Harry
Fleishman. He told me it looked factory and said "now you are a builder" I
told him that I only refinished it and he said thats the hardest part, the rest is
basic construction. Well that was the hook for me, I immediately began
making plans for my next project.....to build my own guitar from scratch.
And thats what I did, of course it had taken me the next year or so to finish
since I was part timing it and building all my jigs as I went. The finished
product was not perfect, but I was told when I brought it to work that "its
the nicest first guitar I've ever seen" by an old friend and then mentor, John
Eaton of Woodsongs Lutherie.
Here is that guitar.
