1942 Gibson J-45 Restoration
This Gibson had a cracked headstock, a loose bridge, a crack from the end block all the was through
the lower side bout and ending at the upper side bout.
The fingerboard was badly dug out and the frets very worn.
It took some creative kleeting due to the fact that the crack ran just above the internal kerfed lining however
from the worse damage near the end block, the crack came together nicely.
The finish was a bit of a challenge do to age and condition of the previous finish, but I think we got a nice
look. Since the rest of the guitar is original we didn't want perfect, just a good match for the older finish.
A fret dress and bridge refit and this guitar is beautiful. The sound was crisp yet full, and it played perfect up
the whole length of the fingerboard.
